SSTS Programme in Batticaloa

24 – 25 September 2007 - 31 Church leaders participated at the SSTS programme held in Batticaloa. They came from all over the district, including out of bounds areas. The seminar was very important for the participants since the topics which were covered were relevant to most of them. They themselves had gone through suffering and/or persecution somewhere down the line in their respective ministries.

An introduction to SSTS and topics such as ‘The Cross’, ‘The Resources’ and ‘The Victorious Church” were covered at the seminar. Many real life experiences of people who had been persecuted for their faith were also shared. The main motive was to show the participants that persecution was not something local, but something which occurs to Christians worldwide. The stories of how people overcame their struggles are sure to have strengthened the participants.
