Dr. Neil T Anderson, founder of Freedom Ministries held a captive audience of about 700 participants of Pastors, Church leaders & Christian believers at the People’s Church Assembly of God (PCAG) as he spoke on ‘Living Free in Christ’.

The conference was organized by NCEASL in partnership with the PCAG, Freedom Ministries India & Open Doors on 13th & 14th July 2009 from 8.30 am to 5 pm.

It reiterated to the participants ‘Who we are in Christ, The freedom we have in Christ and How to live freely in our day to day life’. Dr. Anderson conducted the main sessions in English with a Sinhala interpreter on stage. The Tamil translation was conducted through headphones. The worship sessions were led by PCAG and Foursquare Church.
The topics discussed were -

  • The search for Identity and Meaning – to fully understand ‘Who we are in Christ’, in order that we may live as children of God.
  • The Position of the Believer – the practical significance of our position in Christ so we can live victoriously over sin.
  • Mental strongholds and the renewing of our Minds – confirming to this world develops strongholds in our minds, resulting in less than Christ-like temperaments; how we can begin the process of renewing our minds.
  • The Battles for our Minds – to understand the spiritual battle that is going on for our minds so that we take every thought captive in obedience to Christ.
  • Managing our Emotional Life –understanding our emotional nature in order to bring healing to damaged emotions.
  • Relational Perspectives –how God intends that we relate to one another in order that we may live in harmony with Him and each other.
  • Forgiving from the Heart – to understand what it means to forgive from the heart in order that we may do so.

Mr. Clay Bergen led the last session on ‘Steps to Freedom’. This session guided the participants on renouncing all bondages.
On the last day a gift was presented to Dr. Anderson by the organizers.  A framed wall plaque titled ‘Who I am in Christ’ was presented to NCEASL & PCAG for their support. The conference was a great success due to the hard work and support extended by the PCAG team, worship teams, NCEASL team, those who ushered, and all those who prayed and extended their support in various ways.
